I was delighted to hear that Howard Raymond has won his legal battle with Michael Winterbottom's Revolution Films and Studio Canal. Howard is a good friend of mine hrs worked hard with the team to make the film a success. In my opinion it was only right that Howard told the story of his father's life. I'm really looking forward to watching the Production with the successful Tom Hiddleston, I think he will be marvellous at playing Paul Raymond. I've already heard lots of stories about Paul from his son, so I know it's going to be a great honest account of The King of Soho himself.

Paul Raymond ran the golden era during the late 1950s and 1960s when lavish shows at The Soho Revue bar attracted a chic clientele. The club's plush, spacious lounge bar become a regular haunt of Peter Sellers, John Mills, Alma Cogan, Stanley Baker and other home-grown show business stars, augmented by their visiting Hollywood counterparts, Judy Garland and Frank Sinatra among them. Paul was a very unique man given the pivotal position he held. I think the film will be a great account of the history of the Soho sex industry across the last half of the 20th century. From what I have heard Paul Raymond was someone from an early age who was always going to live on the edge in making his way in life. The growing sexual freedom of the '60s allowed him to keep pushing the boundaries.... and I admire people who push boundaries.

Paul had major success at property investment which provided his fortune in later life and he wound up one of the richest landowners in Britain. I am really looking forward to watching The King Of Soho - the oldest swinger in town.
